Should You Watch Marvel’s Falcon And The Winter Soldier Series With Your Kids?

Okay, so Riah and I loved watching Marvel’s WandaVision series together! So when we found our the Falcon and the Winter Soldier series would be premiering a few weeks after WandaVision ended we were super excited to have another Marvel show to watch! But, there’s a few things you should know first before watching the Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney Plus with your kids, so I’ll cover everything below in this parents guide!
This Parents Guide is also for Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, Godparents, siblings, and anyone else that may be looking to watch the Falcon and the Winter Soldier series with kids.
Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson aka The Falcon, and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier. The pair, who came together in the final moments of “Avengers: Endgame,” team up on a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience.
Well … actually, here’s the thing! Disney Plus has only released the first episode of Falcon and the Winter Soldier so far, so I can’t really say! However, I did find out today that the series has a PG 14 rating! And I’m super bummed about it! Normally, my 9 yr old only watches PG 13 and below! PG 14 has always proved a bit too much for what I’d like her to view at the moment, so I’m seriously hurt right now!
With its PG 14, this series will probably be for older kids. It’s hard to tell so far with just one episode, but I did notice that the action scenes were a bit more violent than the ones we’re used to in WandaVision!
I am planning on letting my 9 yr old watch the first episode just so I can see how she’ll react to the fighting scenes, but this definitely isn’t for young kids!
With only seeing the first season, I can’t say just yet. I will come back and update this as I continue to watch the series though.
So far, the first episode is pretty clean.
Again, at this moment, I can’t say.
If anything changes, I’ll update this section when it does.
For kids, it can be a bit intense! I’m not sure how my daughter will react to these scenes now that she’s 9, and into more action, but I’ll update this section later today after she watches the first episode.
Well, seeing that there’s a PG 14 rating, I’m expecting there to be. There’s definitely a ton of action straight out the gate, and a ton of fighting! There are also guns! Which I know a lot of parents worry about.
As always, I’ll be sure to let you know if this series was worth the Disney Plus subscription costs once I’ve seen the entire series.
But of course, it’s different for each family, so keep your family in mind when reading my thoughts. YOU know your family best. So if your family would totally enjoy the Falcon and the Winter Soldier, it may totally be worth it for you!
Oh yeah! If you’re a big Marvel fan, this feels true to the Marvel movies, not like the first few episodes of WandaVision. And if you’re a casual fan, this first episode will remind you why you love Marvel so much!
Nope! But since this isn’t technically a kids show, that’s not a problem here.
So with WandaVision, there were episodes you needed to watch the end credits for, and a few you could exit out of once the show ended.
The first episode of Falcon and the Winter Soldier does not have any clips hidden in the end credits, so you can totally skip them if you need too!
Well, of course, there is! Lol
If you’ve read my movie reviews on Popcorn and Tequila (my movies + tv shows blog for adults) then you know I ALWAYS have a ton to say. Lol
So here are some other things worth mentioning so far …
And that’s it!
I hope this parents guide helps you make a decision on whether or not the Falcon and the Winter Soldier series is right for you and your family.
If it did, please let me know in the comments.
